It could in fact, that no visit to the Columbia Gorge and the Mount Hood region is complete without a visit to Multnomah Falls. It is definitely a must see when visiting Oregon.  Multnomah Falls is the second highest year-round waterfall in the United States, 620 feet from top to bottom.  Also, it is located in the heart of the stunning Columbia River Gorge. Multnomah Falls is the most visited recreation spot in the Pacific Northwest, with over 2 million visitors a year.

Part of what makes Multnomah Falls so attractive is its easy accessibility, located at exit 31 along I-84, as well as access from the Historic Columbia Hwy 30.  This hot spot could not be an easier or more inspiring destination. Multnomah Falls is a spot the whole family will cherish and remember for years to come.

Part of what makes visiting Multnomah Falls such a memorable experience is Benson Bridge, which is a short hike from the base of the falls. This spot provides an excellent photo opportunity with views of the falls and gorge.  The trail also continues another 1.1 miles to the top of the falls.  Once you have reached that height, the views become more stunning.

Also, along the Historic Highway 30 there are a number of other waterfalls to visit and enjoy, including Bridal Veil Falls, Latourell Falls and Wahkeena Falls. Two other view points along the drive include the Vista House at Crown Point and the Portland Women’s Forum Viewpoint.

While the Mount Hood area may be packed with a wide variety of activities, this should be placed at the very top of your must-do list.  Its natural beauty combined with the beauty of the region makes it a surefire hit with people of all ages.
